Focal Therapy – (R)Evolution in the management of Localised Prostate Cancer

2020-12-02

Presenter: Dr Eric Barret

Focal Therapy (FT) for Prostate Cancer (PCa) is defined as an Ablative strategy that targets the dominant or index lesion. The main objective of this approach is to combine minimal morbidity with effective cancer control.

Patient selection is the cornerstone and imaging plays an important role in diagnosis and staging. The success of such a therapy depends on the reliable evaluation of cancer and a right targeting for tissue destruction. Despite promising outcomes, FT is still considered as an experimental treatment option.

In this ESU webinar, Dr Eric Barret will provide information on the principles of FT for PCa and its modalities, methods of evaluation and new strategies in its treatment.
