- The first trial to demonstrate an overall survival benefit with the addition of metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) patients is the phase II ARTO trial, which showed an improvement in overall survival (median OS NR vs 50 months, HR 0·55, 95% CI 0·33–0·92, p=0·021) with the addition of MDT to abiraterone acetate and prednisone, in oligometastatic CRPC patients.
